Water-transfer helmet decal for Spanish volunteers of the División Azul. Soak in water for about one minute, slide it from the backing paper onto the helmet and let it dry. For added protection, a clear brush-on coating may be applied, but it is not mandatory.

Water-transfer helmet decal representing the shield associated with the Spanish volunteers of the División Azul, a formation of volunteers from Francoist Spain employed during the Second World War on the Eastern Front within the German Army.
The División Azul, also known as the División Española de Voluntarios, was incorporated into the German Army as the 250th Infantry Division. It operated mainly on the Eastern Front between 1941 and 1943, retaining a strong Spanish national identity while serving within the German military structure.
The helmet decal of the Spanish volunteers is distinguished by its heraldic and colour reference to Spain, generally represented by a shield bearing the Spanish national colours. On German helmets, this insignia could appear together with the Heer eagle or in other documented configurations, depending on the specific variant and method of application.
This decal is intended for application on German M35, M40 and M42 steel helmets, as well as on helmet configurations associated with Spanish volunteer equipment. It recalls one of the most recognizable foreign volunteer formations integrated into the German military apparatus during the Second World War.
Water-transfer decals consist of a thin printed film applied to a paper backing. Before application, the decal should be immersed in water for about one minute, allowing the printed film to separate from the backing paper. The decorated layer is then carefully slid onto the helmet surface, aligned correctly and left to dry completely.
Once dry, the decal adheres to the helmet surface. To improve durability and protect the decoration from handling, dust or light rubbing, a thin clear protective coating may be applied with a brush. This step is optional, but it can help preserve the finish over time.
