The "Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds" is based on the enactment Reichsgesetzblatt 1945 I S. 11 of 29 December 1944. The Oak Leaves & Swords with Diamonds were introduced 15 July 1941. These were all handmade of multi-piece construction. Gebr. Godet & Co. produced the first 3 sets by drilling out mountings in a stamped set of Oak Leaves & Swords. These were awarded to Oberst Werner Mölders, General der Jagdflieger Adolf Galland, and Major Gordon Gollob.
