More info

SA dagger with black wooden grip and side-ring scabbard, high-quality reproduction inspired by the famous Model 1933 SA dagger, one of the most recognizable uniform edged weapons of the Third Reich period. The SA dagger was introduced as a dress and uniform dagger for the Sturmabteilung. Its design was based on a 16th-century South German hunting dagger known as the Holbein dagger. Specialist sources describe early originals as well-made pieces with hand-fitted fittings, wooden grips and brown anodized or blued scabbards, while the blade carried the etched motto “Alles für Deutschland”

This version is made to a higher standard than basic reproductions. The blade is produced from real high-quality steel, while the grip is made from black wood, not plastic or cheap synthetic material. It is therefore intended for collectors who want a more convincing, solid and refined replica. The wooden grip gives the piece a more authentic visual and tactile feel, while the steel blade provides better weight, presence and construction quality than standard low-cost versions.

The scabbard is fitted with a side suspension ring, an important detail linked to the way the dagger was carried from the belt or uniform hanger. Historical SA dagger scabbards featured metal fittings and suspension hardware, with variations depending on maker, production period and later RZM standardization. References on original examples note that early production tended to show higher-quality materials and finishing, while later production became more standardized and simplified.

Visually, this reproduction keeps the classic SA dagger profile: straight blade, shaped grip, front emblems, metal fittings and matching scabbard. The black wooden grip gives the piece a more refined and serious appearance compared with ordinary standard replicas, while preserving the recognizable historical silhouette. It is especially suitable for collectors, display, static reenactment and uniform completion when a premium reproduction is preferred over a simple economy-grade copy.

Curiosity: SA daggers were produced in very large numbers by many manufacturers, especially around Solingen, Germany’s famous blade-making centre. Today, collectors study small differences in maker marks, grip wood, fittings, scabbard finish and blade etching, making the SA dagger one of the most detailed and complex fields within German edged-weapon collecting.
