Rare small chest badge, used by members of the National Fascist Party.
Very rare and very first version of the official badge of all the departments of the Xª Flottiglia MAS. It was applied on the left pocket of the jacket. The badge was short-lived, as it was immediately replaced by the iconic arm shield (first in fabric, then in metal).
The Female Auxiliary Service (SAF) was a voluntary corps of the Italian Social Republic created in 1944 to support its armed forces. Led by Brigadier General Piera Gatteschi Fondelli, it included about 6,000 women in medical, logistic and support roles. Many suffered reprisals after the war’s end.
