German NSDAP (Nazi Party) Prototype 1940 Reichsparteitag Table Medal By Deschler. This event as well as the 1939 rally had never taken place due to the outbreak of the Second World War. The 1939 and 1940 Reichsparteitag table medals were designed and struck in anticipation of the events and were put into storage in the attic of the Deschler factory in München (Munich) where they were forgotten about for decades. The design is by Richard Klein and his initials RK are under the left wing of the eagle. The material is Tombak (Brass). When they were discovered several years ago, they were sold to a few select collectors inside of Germany. Very few samples were struck, and this piece is the reproduction of an extremely rare item.
