The Medal for Military Valor was one of the main Italian decorations awarded for acts of military bravery. During the period of the Kingdom of Italy, it was issued in different classes and used to recognize personal courage shown during military operations, wartime actions or events directly connected with armed service.
The obverse features the traditional design with the Savoy shield, set between vegetal branches, and the inscription “AL VALORE MILITARE”. The reverse was intended for the individual named engraving of the award. The central field usually contained the rank, first name and surname of the decorated recipient, while the outer area, between the laurel branches, was used for the place of the action and the date or period of the event for which the medal was awarded.
This version can be customized with an engraving made by WAR MILITARIA according to the customer’s request. Customers may provide the details to be engraved, such as rank, first name, surname, place of action and date, recreating the appearance of historical named awards. The photos on the product page show examples of the customization and help illustrate the final result before placing the order.
